Cooperstown Dreams Park

In just three weeks Christopher and I will be heading to Cooperstown, NY for the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational Tournaments. I think I'm more excited than he is! Our club team the North County Longhorns are attending this same event at the end of August, but this trip he has been invited (all expenses paid!) to play with one of the premiere Southern California teams, the SO CAL Red Sox.

According to Wikipedia, Cooperstown is best known as the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Folklore tells that Abner Doubleday invented baseball on a cow pasture within the Village in 1839. (The actual origins of baseball are much less clear.) Part of the film A League of Their Own was filmed in Cooperstown.

This is just as exciting for me due to the fact I won't be on the field coaching. I can relax, sit in the stands and cheer for the first time in many years. Also the kids have to stay in a dorm setting within the park. No parents, so i'll have a great time hanging out with other mom's and dad's. Maybe do a little fishing too!
